You can't tell that much from the photo, but the old sink was shaped like a seashell. There was also some mold under the vinyl, especially around the bathtub and sink, that had started to spread under the base molding.

The new vanity takes up a lot less space than the old one, so the bathroom feels a little bit bigger. The tiles actually look better in person.
